WHAT IS PILATES?

Pilates is a series of movement exercises that are designed to stretch, strengthen, challenge and balance the whole body.  It brings awareness and focus to the use of breath to enhance the body’s ability to achieve these exercises.  Pilates is a strength-based workout that utilizes functional movement exercises.

WHO IS JOSEPH PILATES?

Joseph Pilates developed the Pilates Method in the early 1900s.  In 1943, his book “Return to Life” was published and this gave us a detailed outline of his mat work.  As Joe says Pilates “is designed to give you suppleness, natural grace, and skill that will be unmistakably reflected in the way you walk, in the way you play, and the way you work.”  I believe his vision was that he wanted all of us to go through our everyday lives filled with the ease of movement, “spontaneous zest and pleasure.”

WHY IS PILATES FOR ME?

Pilates is for everyone, Pre and Post Natal, Athletes, Neuromuscular Conditions, Rehabilitation, Muscular Imbalances, anyone ages 7-100 and everyone in-between.  ARC Pilates creates a safe and supportive place to move for all levels.  The Pilates Method encompasses the whole body, mind and spirit to achieve movement.    Therefore, whether you want to increase your strength and flexibility, improve your posture, have more energy, move with confidence or take your fitness regime to a completely new level, then Pilates is for you.  At ARC Pilates, we pride ourselves on providing a movement experience with exceptional attention to movement detail while taking into consideration each client’s individual movement needs.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PILATES?

Strength, Flexibility, Coordination, Mobility, Wellness, Quality of Life, Balance, Improved Posture, Improved Muscular Balance & Athletic Performance.

"In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 sessions you will see the difference, and in 30 sessions you will have a whole new body."
